PostHeaderIcon What is the Croxteth Park Estate in Liverpool like?

It is not actually in Croxteth, it is in West Derby (L12) but it is called the Croxteth Park Estate because it is by Croxteth Park.
P.s The area I am talking about is right near the top of the estate, but the property has private gates and that. Will it still be bad there.

Its a large private housing estate with nice homes with some great parkland nearby.

However it has never overcome the basic flaw which it was built with, there is one road in, one road out and there are no amenities apart from some small shops and a pub (now closed).

Apart from the houses and the walks nearby, there is nothing else there.

Rhys Jones was murdered there but that was a feud brought in from outside the estate, the gangs of Croxteth and Norris Green have been watched very closely by the police and many are now in prison. Its not shangrila, but not as bad as it was.

PostHeaderIcon Why do you think about living nearby Newsham Park in Liverpool?

We´re moving to Liverpool and we don´t know the city at all. So is this area dangerous to live? And what are the areas to avoid for living? Thank you.

Newsham park is huge and is in the centre of 4 distinct areas.

Green Lane is on one side ——this is quite nice if you live in the semi-detached houses on one side. Otherwise it is bland and featureless,

West Derby rd is vibrant and has a Thursday market —the houses range from semi-detached to terraced.

Sheil Road is a busy road on the way to Anfield with semi’s and terraced houses,

Kensington is semi’s and terraced housing.

Newsham Park and its environs was in Victorian times very swish but now it it is a little worn and run-down but subject to major re-development at some stage. It is an area where families have lived for years, mixed with transient students and others. You could live in one street and find that it is very nice and quiet with nice neighbours which is the norm. Like everywhere there are bad neighbours but you woud be unlucky if that happened.
Its not the most salubrious area but it’s not particularly dangerous and most people are doing the best that they can for their families.
Don’t be nervous ——- if the worse comes to the worse you can always move.
You could live in the worst part of Liverpool and find you have great neighbours and live in the best parts and find you had fallen among thieves.
