PostHeaderIcon When will the new Stanley Park ( Liverpool FC ) stadium be open?

Conservatively, a good 5 years.

The owners say they will re–examine the building plan once the financial crisis is over. The credit crunch his just beginning to hit most countries. Economic recession’s impact will be most felt next year and the following. That’s about 2 years. If the economy picks up, it will take 1 year to offset the losses and another year to build on growth. That’s 4 years in total, so in the 5th year, that’s when perhaps construction will begin. The new stadium will be open 5 years from now if all goes to plan.

PostHeaderIcon should liverpool and everton share a stadium?

both merseyside clubs are looking to move stadiums. both are struggling with finances. liverpool have a site at stanley park. everton don’t want to mve to kirkby. solution a shared stadium. i don’t think this would work in any other city in britain but could be a success in liverpool. what do you lot think?

No, because they are arch rivals and the fans anyway wont agree to it.
I’m a Liverpool fan and ill rather burn down the stadium than share it with Everton supporters…

PostHeaderIcon parking in liverpool near anfield?

we’re driving in from holyhead for a monday night match, but we’ll be arriving around 2pm., and we need somewhere to park that isn’t too expensive, and isn’t too far from the ground, as none of us know liverpool that well, so we’ll need to find our way back to the car at around 10pm. for that, park and ride might not be a good idea, as i dont know how easy it would be to get back to at that time

anyone have any ideas?
thanks in advance!!

All the local schools make a fortune by turning their playgrounds into football car parks on match days. The nearer you park to the ground the dearer it is. You can park in North Liverpool Academy close to the ground for about £10 per car, or go to my children’s old school All Saints Anfield about 5 mins from the ground I think they charge between £5-7 per car. Do not park in the residential streets not because of car theft, I live in Anfield and there is no problem with cars being targeted, but because there is a residents parking zone all around the ground and we have passes to park. The wardens are pretty hot on looking for cars without a pass.

All the schools have high security fences and parking attendants so your car is safe in them.

hope you have a good trip and enjoy your stay in Liverpool.

Edit
You can’t park in the main car park at Stanley park, that is for season ticket holders and corporate guests only.
