Which station is the easiest to change on Piccadilly Line when travelling from Heathrow to Victoria?
I will travel from Heathrow station to Victoria station on Sunday evening.
I want to avoid stairs or walking as much as possible because of suite cases and other luggages and because my mother has hip replacement.
Also, I find some station like Earl’s Court is quite confusing to change as District Line has many different destinations and signs are not so clear.
Could anyone tell me which station is the easiest to change please?
District Line: Hammersmith, Barons Court, Earl’s Court, Gloucester Rd, South Kensington
Victoria Line: Green Park.
Thank you for your time and help!!
Hammersmith or Baron’s Court - the transfer from Piccadilly to District lines is across the platform on both stations.
Heathrow T1 domestic arrivals, where should a friend in a private car pick up?
Domestic arrivals and departures are both on 1st floor, but someone collecting an arriving passenger (myself) goes to ground floor. I text to say I am in arrivals, but we can’t find each other. I have to heave my case down stairs and she has to pay to park, and gets very irritated (understatement)
I am coming from Northern Ireland.
There should be elevator access to all floors - disabled access and also for folks with baby buggies and large cases on airport trolleys.
If she was a real friend, she wouldn’t mind parking, especially if you are coming to visit and are unfamiliar with the airport.
Good Luck in finding your friend. (I hope you are not still stuck in the airport!)
What is the least expensive way to get from Heathrow to the Belsize Park tube station and how would I go?
There will be 2 adults with luggage (one bag and one carry on each) arriving at noon on a Saturday. Thanks so much for your help!
The cheapest way would be to take the tube (London Underground). You can get this direct from the airport terminal and travel on the Piccadilly line to Leicester Square, then change to the Northern line to Belsize Park. The journey would probably take up to a couple of hours allowing for changes.
The cost (maximum £4.00 per person) is a lot less than other options such as Heathrow Express or taxi, but you’d have to carry your luggage around, possibly up some stairs or escalators, and on a Saturday the tube is likely to be pretty crowded.
But it’s definitely the cheapest way and I’ve taken luggage on the tube in this way before, I’d rather save the money to enjoy myself at my destination!
Taxi or tube from Heathrow to Hyde Park Ramada?
Looking for advice on how to get from Heathrow to Hyde Park Ramada. Does anyone know if there is a shuttle or the approx. cost of a taxi? Tube? Bus? First time to London - can’t wait!
I would take the Heathrow Express.
When you arrive at the airport, just follow the signs for Public Transportation.. there will be signs for the tube and for the Express. The Express takes you into the center of London in about 15 minutes.. its direct, no stops.
You arrive at Paddington Train Station. And from there you can either:
walk outside and take a short cab ride to your hotel, if you have alot of luggage.
OR, if you can handle your luggage– follow the signs to the Underground — which will take you to the Paddington TUBE Station. From there, take the District/Central tube line to the Notting Hill station (which is very close, it should be the very first stop)
- And also to note– I definitely recommend you use the Tube alot while you’re in London. Its verry efficient. And buy an Oyster card right away (they come in different daily increments).. it is "pre-paying" and allows you unlimited use on those days.
Check out the links below. The second one has a great feature– Journey Planner. You can enter in your destinations and it will tell you the different options for getting there, how long it’ll take, if there will be stairs, etc….
Have a great time in London.. i love it there. I fell in love w/ that city. My first trip was March 2005.. and then I went back June/July 2005, November 2005 and then again.. Sept 2006. I’m kinda addicted and am missing it!!
