PostHeaderIcon Why don’t Heathrow Airport allow taxi drivers 20 mins free parking in car park?

Today a sad day. Passengers suddenly finding choice available USE ADDISON LEE expensive or pay PARKING CHARGES. Cabs are being fined if they stop to pick their pre booked passengers. Its bad in Terminal 5 the terminal is used for business people, often with no baggage normally we zoom in open the door collect and pull out. Now they say we have to pay car park. Why not allow us 20 mins free parking to get our passengers. Why money, money such a greed

Why do you need 20 mins parking if you are just picking up or dropping off? Perhaps they are trying to clear the traffic from the entrances and exits.

PostHeaderIcon I am picking up from terminal 3 at Heathrow. Where is a good place to wait nearby?

I am picking up from Terminal 3 at Heathrow and want to arrive in plenty of time but the parking charges at the airport are too expensive. Is there a good place nearby I can wait and get a coffee etc without parking fees?

There are a couple of McDonalds on the Bath Road which forms the Northern boundary of the airport you can wait in one of those and either will allow you to drive into T3 pick-up in around 15 minutes.

PostHeaderIcon Airport Plane Parking ???

What are the factors that depend on airlines getting charged for "parking" at certain international airport ???

Which would be the most expensive airport to have any airlines flight parked ???

How much the BAA be charging to airlines like "American Airlines", "Indian Airlines", "Air Canada", etc. for having their planed parked in Heathrow (owned by BAA) ???

Does the charge vary for country to country or would be depend on how often the flight lands in their airport (i.e. once in a week, 2 times a week, etc.) or would it get charged based on the number of hours it get parked at certain airport ???

Along with parking charges, how does/much an airline get charged towards having its plane cleaned, petrol fill-up, baggage handling charge, etc. by the authority of the airport they park their plane in ???

How about the domestic flights parking charge ???

This is quite complex.

Aircraft must pay a landing fee, as well as parking. The amount depends upon a number of factors including the weight of the aircraft. There is also a charge per passenger for various items.

Other aircraft-handling issues are paid with the provider concerned - eg fuel, catering, cleaning, toilet servicing etc etc

The cost of landing and parking a 747 at a major airport runs into thousands of pounds.

Take a look at this: (Leeds/Bradford is a relatively small and cheap airport, and to gov you some idea, a 737 weighs around 65 tonnes - a 747 up to 400)

I hope this helps.

PostHeaderIcon hotel/parking at gatwick?

i need to check in for a flight at 0630, so i thought i would book into a hotel for the night. Someone told me that there are hotels where your parking is included in the price, we are away for 2 weeks so that could be quite expensive, does anyone know of a web site where i can get this info

Flypark - google parking/hotels gatwick - Flypark do parking and the nights stay for £111.00 - not bad considering the parking charges can be near that cost on their own - Happy holidays!!!
