PostHeaderIcon Airport Plane Parking ???

What are the factors that depend on airlines getting charged for "parking" at certain international airport ???

Which would be the most expensive airport to have any airlines flight parked ???

How much the BAA be charging to airlines like "American Airlines", "Indian Airlines", "Air Canada", etc. for having their planed parked in Heathrow (owned by BAA) ???

Does the charge vary for country to country or would be depend on how often the flight lands in their airport (i.e. once in a week, 2 times a week, etc.) or would it get charged based on the number of hours it get parked at certain airport ???

Along with parking charges, how does/much an airline get charged towards having its plane cleaned, petrol fill-up, baggage handling charge, etc. by the authority of the airport they park their plane in ???

How about the domestic flights parking charge ???

This is quite complex.

Aircraft must pay a landing fee, as well as parking. The amount depends upon a number of factors including the weight of the aircraft. There is also a charge per passenger for various items.

Other aircraft-handling issues are paid with the provider concerned - eg fuel, catering, cleaning, toilet servicing etc etc

The cost of landing and parking a 747 at a major airport runs into thousands of pounds.

Take a look at this: (Leeds/Bradford is a relatively small and cheap airport, and to gov you some idea, a 737 weighs around 65 tonnes - a 747 up to 400)

I hope this helps.

PostHeaderIcon hotel/parking at gatwick?

i need to check in for a flight at 0630, so i thought i would book into a hotel for the night. Someone told me that there are hotels where your parking is included in the price, we are away for 2 weeks so that could be quite expensive, does anyone know of a web site where i can get this info

Flypark - google parking/hotels gatwick - Flypark do parking and the nights stay for £111.00 - not bad considering the parking charges can be near that cost on their own - Happy holidays!!!

PostHeaderIcon Stansted Airport (Nov 2009) - Pickup - park in nearby town & catch a bus?

As my partner’s parents now have to fly from Slovakia into Stansted, arriving tomorrow at 11.15am, what might be the most cost effective way to collect them. The pickup charges appear ludicrous and do not think anything has improved since last experience. In Luton I can park in the medium parking for £3 and get 2 hours parking and it not much more than a 10 minute walk to the terminal. I do not think it fair to have to pay nearer £10 at Stansted so I would prefer if this is the case to use a local bus service and give the money to the local community. So how much, how long and how easy will it be for me to find fair parking in e.g. Bishops Stortford and get the 3 of us back in a reasonably short period of time. Example Arriva Service 510 - 16 minute journey (Tel 0844 800 4411 - currently closed) Thanks
Help from website

Then Arriva
Bishop’s Stortford – London Stansted Airport £2.60 single, £4 return
But what are the parking charges in Bishops Stortford close to the bus stop etc

I would say drive up to Birchanger Services which is at the M11 junction where the turn off for Stansted Airport is http://motorwayservicesonline.co.uk/Birchanger_Green … tell your partner’s parents to phone you on your mobile phone once they have cleared Customs and are heading for the arrivals area, if they don’t have a mobile phone too there are always payphones around … in the meantime you sit in the motorway services with free parking having a coffee waiting for their call … when they call tell them to make their way to the Short Stay Car Park … with a bit of luck they will get there about the same time as you do … the first 30 minutes in the Short Stay Car Park costs £2.50
