PostHeaderIcon How to get from central London to Heathrow, cheaply?

I’m flying to Italy on July 4, and my flight leaves Heathrow at 6:50 a.m. I’m staying at a hotel in Bayswater, north of Hyde Park.

Does anyone from London have any tips on how to get to the airport? The tube is out, since I’d like to be there 2 hours ahead of time, and it doesn’t start running until 5 a.m. Taxis are expensive. In the states there are cheap van shuttles that will pick you up and take you to the airport — anything like that in the U.K.?

hotelhoppa and hotelink don’t start early enough for you. Neither does the Heathrow Express.
You can do it by 2 buses
N52 to Notting Hill Gate
N9 to Heathrow

Should take about 1 hour 30 minutes.

PostHeaderIcon Best option for taxi to Willesden Green/Queen’s Park - Luton or Heathrow?

We (couple) will be taking a taxi from either Luton airport or Heathrow airport to Willesden Green station or Queen’s Park station in London. Which will be cheaper? How long will each take? How much should we expect to pay?

Will be travelling with lots of luggage but if anyone knows of equally convenient ways to travel to and from the same places please feel free to leave a comment on that too.

There are various public transport option but if you’ve got tonnes of luggage and need a direct transfer, I would recommend looking at options other than a black cab because these are ridiculously expensive, especially since there is often lots of traffic.

My recommended option would be to get an airport transfer with a car service. I use these people www.airportmpvservices.co.uk and they are excellent. They are a set price and these are the best rates that I’ve found in London for this type of thing. They even meet you at the gate and help you with your luggage. Ask for Joyce.

If you know people around the area that you are going to, you could ask them to help you organise a mini-cab (which is a car with a driver which you pay a set fee to go to a certain destination). Mini-cabs are cheaper than black cabs but are run by little local companies so unlikely that you’ll find them on the net.

Generally you will find it easier to get back to central London from Heathrow because distance wise it is much closer than Luton (which is an hour or so north of the city).

PostHeaderIcon What is the cheapest and easiest way to go to downtown from Heathrow Airport?

I ll be in London in a few weeks and i m wondering what the cheapest and easiest way would be. I am going to Bayswater (near Hyde Park) and we ll be 3 people so i dont think the underground or the train will be the best solution.

the underground is the cheapest … £4 cash fare but cheaper if you get an Oyster card http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/faresandtickets/visitortickets/5185.aspx … the Oyster card will be useful for your time in London as well … to get from Heathrow to Bayswater take the Piccadilly line to Earls Court and change onto the District line (destination Edgware Road) to Bayswater

however the Heathrow Express train https://www.heathrowexpress.com/index.asp?SID={E391D218-7D7E-48C8-BFFB-17E95DD3F93B} comes into Paddington station which is very near Bayswater so it would be by far the quickest and easiest

PostHeaderIcon Long stay car park for London Heathrow?

I am going on holidays for 21 days and I`ll be catching flight from London Heathrow. I need to find a parking place which is safe and economical. I have tried many online search pages but its coming out to be around 100 quids.
Does anyone know any parking space where I can park my car for 21ish days. it doesnt necessarily need to be close to Heathrow.

Thanks.

I believe (although I’ve never tried it) that if you book a room at one of the hotels at Heathrow for the last night before you leave you can park at the hotel for free for a week … and if you book another hotel room for the night you arrive back you can have another week free … which would only leave you with one more week to pay for

especially if you’ve got a very early morning flight or you’re coming from quite far away, it could be worth looking into
