PostHeaderIcon Travelling to London Heathrow airport next Thursday from Birmingham traveling times please?

Taking my son to Catch a flight to the USA next week from Heathrow airport (10.05am flight) next Thursday from the Birmingham area.

Need to get there a few hours before flight, how much travelling time would you sensibly allow and also finding parking spaces

Never been to Heathrow before, what will be the worst road congestion areas.

If you travel to Heathrow from B’ham on a regular basis any goods times to give me please.
Spelling error, meant any good "tips" to give me

I am a UK Travel Agent working for Co-op Travel

First, I hope you are not going to just "find a parking space" - you must pre-book if you don’t want to get fleeced. You don’t say how long you are going for, but if it is 14 days then the best parking price is £73.

You should aim to arrive at the airport around 07:00. If you are using one of the budget parks, then you must allow for being shuttled to your terminal. Frankly, I would leave B’ham at 4 am.

However, it you want a more relaxing start to your holiday, I would strongly suggest coming down the night before - you never know when an accident might block the motorway then you are in trouble. I can arrange a luxury 4 star Heathrow hotel, and 14 nights parking, for £119.

Give me a call on 02392 511568 if you are interested.

PostHeaderIcon Is there a train from Stratford(East London ) to Stansted airport?

Is there a website where I acan book aticket for this?
Or, would you sugest to go by my car.
I live 30 miles from airport (hainult), but the parking is costing me £30.
Any advice please?

Thanks

Train takes about an hour from Stratford-London to Stansted Airport and you *can* get a cheap day return (name of a ticket) for £18.70 (Open return is between £27 and £32)

Have a look on the Virgin Trains website.

****This might NOT be the cheapest ticket available***, check http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-train-tickets for the best tips about saving money on train travel.

Don’t forget the cost of petrol and the effort of battling through London traffic, as well as the possibility that your car gets nicked while it’s at the Airport (unless it’s more at risk parked at home while you’re away - I’m from the North and don’t know what it’s like down there!)

Have a safe journey and a good holiday/business trip or whatever :-)
