is england better than the republic of ireland?
I believe England is better than ROI because we have better infrastructure- our roads are better than ROI’s, England has more motorways, our motorways have 3 or 4 lanes whilst ROI only have 2 lane motorways. We have more trains and much more light rail networks in our cities. We have the eurostar that connects us to France. England’s public transport system is much more efficient than ROI. We have more airports here, in London alone there is gatwick, stansted, city airport, luton and heathrow, thats 5 airports. I can only thnk of 3 airports in ROI, Dublin, Cork and Shannon, the latter is hanging by a thread! Our airports are much more bigger and modern with more shops and service in them. We have loads of amusement parks here and ROI has none??? (I think). We have more high rise buildings here. There are more shops and services here. Our NHS system is better than your public health service, in ROI your an outcast if you have a medical card? but over here, everyone has one regardless of social class. Our cities are bigger than yours, the population of London is bigger than the pop. of all of ROI!!! There is much more to do over here. There are much more job oppurtunities over here and other oppurtunities. There are more celebrities in England and there is more of a media culture here. I could ramble on but I won’t anymore, i think ive said enough, I used to live in ROI for a while and these are the differences that I noticed whilst living there. What do you guys think???????????????
i have lived in both…..england, ireland and scotland the best place by far….is ireland. no matter what country you live in there is advantages and disavantages in living in every country. i dont know why you seem to hink having high rise bulidings is good because i hateeeeeeeeeee them, they are that nice to look at….give me a beautiful scenery of sea, land and FRESH AIR any day…ireland is much more nicer. alot of ugly buildings in england and people are not as friendly. also who cares if celebs live there…you are so naive…much more important things in life than celebs lol….and advantages of living in ireland THE PAY is much better!!! houses are HUGE and people can actually have land to bulid there own house!! so from some who is experience and not as naive as you …id say IRELAND!!!
Airport Plane Parking ???
What are the factors that depend on airlines getting charged for "parking" at certain international airport ???
Which would be the most expensive airport to have any airlines flight parked ???
How much the BAA be charging to airlines like "American Airlines", "Indian Airlines", "Air Canada", etc. for having their planed parked in Heathrow (owned by BAA) ???
Does the charge vary for country to country or would be depend on how often the flight lands in their airport (i.e. once in a week, 2 times a week, etc.) or would it get charged based on the number of hours it get parked at certain airport ???
Along with parking charges, how does/much an airline get charged towards having its plane cleaned, petrol fill-up, baggage handling charge, etc. by the authority of the airport they park their plane in ???
How about the domestic flights parking charge ???
This is quite complex.
Aircraft must pay a landing fee, as well as parking. The amount depends upon a number of factors including the weight of the aircraft. There is also a charge per passenger for various items.
Other aircraft-handling issues are paid with the provider concerned - eg fuel, catering, cleaning, toilet servicing etc etc
The cost of landing and parking a 747 at a major airport runs into thousands of pounds.
Take a look at this: (Leeds/Bradford is a relatively small and cheap airport, and to gov you some idea, a 737 weighs around 65 tonnes - a 747 up to 400)

I hope this helps.
What is the best way to get from Gatwick Airport to Hyde Park by public transport? Please help!! :)?
depends which part of Hyde Park … if it’s along the north side of the park (for instance Queensway, Lancaster Gate) then the other answers are good
if it’s along the southern side of the park (for instance Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge) then you would be better using the underground direct from Heathrow … see the underground map at

Where do i pick up someone arriving at Heathrow from USA?
My girlfriend is finally (wooooo) moving over here to the UK with me.
She’s arriving on a Northwest Airlines service from Detroit, where is the best place to pick her up from in my car.
Is there a specific parking zone for this situation?
Yes, there are different car parks for all the separate terminals at Heathrow, also two different types of car parks, long stay & short stay(different prices).
Best bet, is to ask your g/f for the flight number of her flight, find out at which terminal that flight comes into, using the flight number, and then find out where the right car park is for the terminal.
Hope this helps!
I was near Heathrow the other day early in the morning around 6 am and i saw something strange.?
I was watching some aircraft takeoff a few miles away from Heathrow and the aircraft retracted their landing gears and extended them again and continued with the extended gear for a few minutes and then they were out of site and i could not see if the gear was up yet.
Were they doing tests to make sure the gears were functioning because they had been parked over night?
just like you said, they were probably making sure the landing gear was working alright.
