parking in liverpool for the game tomorrow night?
i am going to the game tomorrow night where is the best place to park
From the M62, follow the signs for the ground, as you come up to the last set of lights before the ground on Utting avenue/ Priory Road, do a U turn, and 50 yards on your left is the old Anfield Comp school. Parking there should cost £8-£10, 3 minute walk back up the hill past Stanley Park to the ground.
NB Stanley Park is only for season ticket and corporate guests, do not follow the traffic into Priory Road, you need to do a U turn to get onto the other side of the carriageway to get into Anfield Comp.
There are plenty of other schools nearby which provide match day parking as well.
Where about in Liverpool was Arthur Askey from?
I’m researching a local history project, focusing on the Anfield / Everton / Kensington / Princes Park / Belle Vale / County / Warbreck / Aintree areas of Liverpool. I’ve found various famous people who came from or had links to these areas.
Anybody know where Arthur Askey was from?
Any other famous people from the above areas?
Thanks.
Askey, Arthur Bowden (1900–1982), actor and entertainer, was born on 6 June 1900 at 29 Moses Street, Liverpool, the elder child and only son of Samuel Askey (d. 1958), secretary of the firm Sugar Products of Liverpool, and his wife, Betsy Bowden (d. 1949), of Knutsford, Cheshire. Six months after his birth the family moved to 90 Rosslyn Street, Liverpool. Arthur was educated at St Michael’s council school (1905–11) and the Liverpool Institute for Boys (1911–16).
parking in liverpool near anfield?
we’re driving in from holyhead for a monday night match, but we’ll be arriving around 2pm., and we need somewhere to park that isn’t too expensive, and isn’t too far from the ground, as none of us know liverpool that well, so we’ll need to find our way back to the car at around 10pm. for that, park and ride might not be a good idea, as i dont know how easy it would be to get back to at that time
anyone have any ideas?
thanks in advance!!
All the local schools make a fortune by turning their playgrounds into football car parks on match days. The nearer you park to the ground the dearer it is. You can park in North Liverpool Academy close to the ground for about £10 per car, or go to my children’s old school All Saints Anfield about 5 mins from the ground I think they charge between £5-7 per car. Do not park in the residential streets not because of car theft, I live in Anfield and there is no problem with cars being targeted, but because there is a residents parking zone all around the ground and we have passes to park. The wardens are pretty hot on looking for cars without a pass.
All the schools have high security fences and parking attendants so your car is safe in them.
hope you have a good trip and enjoy your stay in Liverpool.
Edit
You can’t park in the main car park at Stanley park, that is for season ticket holders and corporate guests only.
