PostHeaderIcon Airport Plane Parking ???

What are the factors that depend on airlines getting charged for "parking" at certain international airport ???

Which would be the most expensive airport to have any airlines flight parked ???

How much the BAA be charging to airlines like "American Airlines", "Indian Airlines", "Air Canada", etc. for having their planed parked in Heathrow (owned by BAA) ???

Does the charge vary for country to country or would be depend on how often the flight lands in their airport (i.e. once in a week, 2 times a week, etc.) or would it get charged based on the number of hours it get parked at certain airport ???

Along with parking charges, how does/much an airline get charged towards having its plane cleaned, petrol fill-up, baggage handling charge, etc. by the authority of the airport they park their plane in ???

How about the domestic flights parking charge ???

This is quite complex.

Aircraft must pay a landing fee, as well as parking. The amount depends upon a number of factors including the weight of the aircraft. There is also a charge per passenger for various items.

Other aircraft-handling issues are paid with the provider concerned - eg fuel, catering, cleaning, toilet servicing etc etc

The cost of landing and parking a 747 at a major airport runs into thousands of pounds.

Take a look at this: (Leeds/Bradford is a relatively small and cheap airport, and to gov you some idea, a 737 weighs around 65 tonnes - a 747 up to 400)

I hope this helps.

PostHeaderIcon where is the cheapest place to park at heathrow?

im flying from heathrow and want to leave my car for 15 days somewhere safe.
wheres the best place ?
do i need to book in advance or just turn up ?
i maybe considering hotel and parking, has anyone ever done this? and at what cost ?

Whatever you do, don’t turn up on the day as that will result in you paying for parking at the maximum rate. I would recommend using "holidayextras" with whom you will make considerable savings on the "gate price". Whilst I’ve not used them for parking at Heathrow, I regularly do so for Gatwick.

Hi,

I’d suggest you book a hotel with parking included. I’ve just looked up the website I generally use:
http://www.airport-parking-quote.co.uk/hotel-and-parking/index.htm
and the prices they have start from £59 for one night in a three-star hotel with 15 days parking included. It’s not much more than the price for parking on its own. =]

Booking ahead is the best idea (even if you’re flying next day). If you turn up at the reception desk, you’re more likely to end up paying close to the offical rack rate and it’s harder for you to shop around (hotels are scattered all over the place, not all close to Heathrow itself).

I’ve used the Premier Inn Heathrow and been really happy - it’s more expensive because it’s close to the airport, check-out is later than at some hotels, and parking is on-site.
Friends have used the Crowne Plaza and the Marriott in Windsor and say good things about both. The APQ website gives good clear info about where and how your car is parked.
When I’ve travelled on last-minute deals I start with the airport quotes site and then ring the hotel direct to haggle over the price. I’ve always managed to get them to drop a bit on the price, include breakfast for the room-only rate… etc. XD

Before you commit yourself to booking, it’s also a good idea to check out what reviews on TripAdvisor say about other people’s experiences at the hotel you’re considering.

Anyway, best of luck with the trip — hope it’s somewhere hot sunny & gorgeous…

PostHeaderIcon How easy is it to pick someone up from terminal 5 at heathrow airport?

I want to pick a friend up from the airport at T5, is there parking? and is it signposted? I want to meet them at the arrivals gates.

Heathrow is worse then Boston during the construction, or New york anytime.

At most airports its easier for a person coming in to get around the airport then a driver getting around. And with most airports there is one terminal that is the easiest. There are trains, or buses that take people from terminal to terminal, or parking lots. The best way is to park, and go to the baggage claim and meet your friend. Since 9/11, no one can go to the gate anymore unless they have a ticket. It may take a good hour but it is the easiest way.

PostHeaderIcon How much is it to park at Gatwick airport for a week?

I’ve used Airparks three times this year, and would recommend them highly. Easy, efficient, best price and a transfer coach to the Airport every 15 mins. Of course, as the season progresses, like everything else the prices seem to go up accordingly. For July they are currently showing a price of £49.95p for 8 days, which is the cheapest on offer.
