What is the distance around the whole of Sefton Park Boating Lake in Liverpool?
Me and a friend have been jogging around the lake each night, we are trying to figure out exactly how much distance we are really covering.
It’s 5 acres in area.
So that’s 4280 X 5 = 21,400 sq yards.
Right, a square consisting or 21,400 sq yds would have to have sides of 214 yards by 100 yards, add all them together to get the perimeter and you have 214 + 100 + 214 + 100 = 628 yards.
I know it’s not a square, but I think the Maths works.

I know it takes about 16mins and 40 secs to jog round it at a steady pace as I do it often. I’m not sure if that helps.
