I will be going across country route 66/I-40 285 and all over wyoming, new mexico ,Idaho just all over the country.I will be in my new caravan and be traveling alone.I want to stop at rest stops and walmarts.I have insurance and towing and a great coverage on my van so no worries there…what tips would you have for me? I watched that movie Rest Stop and it’s now freaking me out….tips, tricks advice? I am bringing with me a weapon just in case.any areas you don’t recommend me going to?
I don’t think there is anything to be worried about. All the highways these days have big blue signs that tell you of restaurants, gas stations, etc that are off the road and if they are close to the highway you can tell if they are open or not.
Many people will be driving along the road with you as well since you are staying on a major interstate so really there is nothing to be concerned about as long as you don’t pick up a hitch hiker.
Just make stops at places where there are other people and park in well lit areas where it is busier.
I would just calm down and plan fun places to stop! As long as you have a cell phone that will help you keep in touch.
